Pól·ē·an·ē·ák (proper noun)  Blog name for hopeless optimist who has demonstrated life-long obsessive interest for matters of and relating to all things political…

I think this must be at least the seventh of those nine lives…My undergraduate degree was in Western Civilization and Theater (don’t ask…) and the first half century included Public Relations, Theater Direction and Choreography, and Non-Profit Development. My mid-life crisis took me to Graduate School where I completed a Master of Humanities degree with specialization in philosophical psychology, aka Existential Phenomenology. I am currently in the DC area doing post masters work in Public Anthropology.

I am interested in the evolution of language in late modernity especially in the areas of public discourse concerning citizenship and political discourse; and, I continue to be fascinated by the psychological effects of mass phenomena on public perception.

Polianiac Trivia:

  • I live with a fabulous Russian Blue named Possum
  • I am a native Texan and member of a Texas Land Heritage Family
  • I have an incredible view of DC…
  • I love the Metro and my favorite DC hangouts include the Jefferson, the Elipse, the Jefferson Reading Room at the Library of Congress, and coming up the escaltor at Capital South :)
  • My Favorite color is Purple and I am addicted to Caffeine Free Diet Coke
  • Texas things I miss most: The Ranch, Mexican Food, My Jeep, and Dallas area Starbuck’s with my friends…
  • I now live in the Commonwealth of Virginia; and, I LOVE IT!
  • Beyond the political, I find the celestial, the artistic, and the natural world to be infinitely inspiring.
